With regard to the general question, the Army Council in its letter of the 30th June 1921, agreed that the British battalion should be placed at Gun Club Hill and that the native troops should be moved from the Whitfield site to the Shatin Pass area. This Goverment ie anxious to press on the construction of the necessary barrack accommodation at the earliest possible date, and it would expedite matters if Colonel Davy could be authorised to discuss with the Director of Public Works details as to land and buildings required.
